Powerhouse Comic Con 2023
Powerhouse Comic Con celebrated its seventh year with another amazing comic con that had celebrity guests, over 250 vendors, and exhibitors, and 2023 celebrated sitcoms from the 1980s with two of the headline guests. The two guests, David Faustino (Married With Children 1987-1997), and Tracy Gold (Growing Pains 1985-1992) were a treat due to their appearance being very rare. Attendees were treated to this rare opportunity to meet the two headliners and receive autographs and photos. Other celebrity guests rounded out the list of amazing Powerhouse Comic Con appearances like Joey D'Auria who was Bozo the Clown in the original Chicago telecast run. Anime guest Elize Baughman (Dragonball Z) and other well-known anime shows also in the special guest lineup. A veteran of Powerhouse Comic Con and local favorite Lord Blood-Rah is always a treat for the fandom with his expert knowledge of horror films. Berrie Evans (Kamen Rider) and other Japanese Kaiju television shows spent time with fans and told stories of his work in the Japanese industry of making Kaiju films as a suit actor. The lineup was rounded out by legendary actor Joshua Milrad (Beastmaster 1982).
Powerhouse Special Guest artists are always a staple and exclusive to Powerhouse Comic Con. 2023 as always had the best celebrity comic book artists From all over the country. Autographs were free and sketches were plenty.
Powerhouse Special Cosplay Guests focused on local talent throughout California in 2023 and as always amazing cosplay as represented at Powerhouse Comic Con 2023
EXCLUSIVE ENTERTAINMENT: Powerhouse Comic Con is the only comic con in the Bay Area that has exclusive entertainment for the whole family. Powerhouse Comic Con takes pride in supporting our troops and all those who serve. Attendees had the opportunity to listen to The Wild Winds, a United States Army band that performed two shows at Powerhouse Comic Con. It was enjoyed by all who attended. Powerhouse Comic Con also had special panels from all the special guests, and also exclusive game tournaments hosted by Kolbalts Keep. Several tournaments took place including Pokemon and Magic. To end the day was the coveted Cosplay of Champions cosplay contest.
FREE EXCLUSIVES: Powerhouse Comic Con is the only Bay Area Comic Con to give away free exclusives which included some amazing posters by the comic book artists and the official comic book of Powerhouse Comic Con titled "Team Colossus" which celebrated its fourth issue in 2023.
SIGHTS & SOUNDS OF POWERHOUSE COMIC CON
Powerhouse Comic Con has been voted the best multi-fandom convention in the Bay Area since 2017 because of the value and quality of Powerhouse Comic Con where fans of all genres can come together and celebrate all things fandom. Powerhouse Comic Con is a community that strives to give Northern California the best entertainment for the rate of admission. Powerhouse Comic Con is the tradition that fans deserve. 2023 was extra special because it was the last convention in Pleasanton, California. In 2024 Powerhouse Comic Con improves its surroundings in Antioch, California where the Contra Costa Expo gives special attention to vendors and attendees alike. Powerhouse Comic Con 2023 was a convention that will be remembered for the ages. The legendary Twilight Knights Renaissance Guild entertained with expert sword fighting for all ages.
